Biography: Lester Critchley was born and schooled in London, England. He graduated from Sheffield Medical School. He came to Hong Kong in 1991 and has work at The Chinese University for 25-years. He is a clinical anaesthetist with interest in spinal anaesthesia for the elderly (subject of his MD), paediatric anaesthesia (still does on call)and anaesthesia for major colorectal and urological surgery. His main research interest in recent years has been cardiac output monitoring and its validation. He is well known for describing percentage error and polar plots. He also is involved running the undergraduate anaesthesia program at Chinese University which has included the development of E-learning and virtual patient sites. He is married with two daughters.
