Biography: Brian Anderson, MB ChB, PhD, FANZCA, FCICM Brian Anderson graduated in medicine from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1980 and fragmented his anaesthesia and intensive care training through the United Kingdom, Republic of South Africa, Australia, the Netherlands and New Zealand. He is now a specialist paediatric anaesthetist and intensivist at Auckland Children's Hospital and is also Professor of Anaesthesiology at the University of Auckland. A PhD in paediatric clinical pharmacology was completed at the University of Auckland in 2002. He has published over 180 peer-reviewed papers as well as numerous book chapters. He has a special interest in the pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic relationships of simple analgesics and maturation aspects of paediatric pharmacology. He is Assoc Editor-in-Chief for the journal Pediatric Anesthesia and Section Editor for Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine. He is co-editor (along with Cote and Lerman) for the textbook A Practice of Anaesthesia for Infants and Children.
