Statement of expertise for the sub-committee: Dr. Lauren Berkow is an Associate Professor of Neuroanesthesia at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is a member of the American Society for Anesthesiologists Task Force on Environmental Sustainability and serves as the liaison between this task force and Practice Greenhealth. She has lectured nationally and internatinally on the topic of sustainability.

Biography: Dr. Lauren Berkow is an Associate Professor of Neuroanesthesia at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine with a joint appointment in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Berkow is an internationally recognized expert in the field of airway management with multiple peer reviewed publications and book reviews on the subject. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Society for Airway Management. She is also currently a board member of the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC). Dr. Berkow is also involved in Sustainability and Greening the OR Initiatives and is a member of the American Society for Anesthesiologists Task Force on Environmental Sustainability. She currently serves as a liaison between this task force and Practice Greenhealth. She is a member of the Maryland Hospitals for a Healthy Environment Advisory Board and was recently awarded it 2015 Physician for Environmental Health Award.
