Statement of expertise for the sub-committee: Dr Chong is dual specialist accredited with the Ministry of Health (Singapore) in Anaesthesiology (2008) and Intensive Care Medicine (2013). Presently senior consultant with the Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, National Healthcare Group, his subspecialty interest is in neuroanaesthesia, for which he completed a clinical fellowship at Toronto Western Hospital, University Health Network, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada (2009-2010) under the Ministry of Health Human Manpower Development Plan Award. His other educational roles include senior clinical lecturer with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS), Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU-Imperial College) assistant lead for Pharmacology, simulation core faculty and NHG residency associate program director. Dr Chong has research publications in Canadian Journal of Anaesthesia, Journal of Neurosurgical Anesthesiology as well as Anaesthesia and Intensive Care; in addition, he has been an invited speaker at various conferences including Asian Society of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care Conference, SG-Dukes Aanesthesia Conference and at the national Anaesthesia society meetings of various ASEAN countries.
