Biography: Alan Garner is a consultant emergencey and retrieval physician. His experience in prehospital and retrieval medicine spans 20 years and includes urban prehospital trauma response, interhospital critical care transport as well as long haul international repatriation. he has also been involved in disaster response such as to the first Bali bombing in 2002 and the South Asian tsunami in 2004. His research interests include the prehospital management of severe head injury, the role of physicians in prehospital trauma care, multiple casualty incident management and triage.
