Biography: Dr. George is an Associate Professor and Associate Medical Director of Research with the Department of Anesthesia, Pain Management, and Perioperative Medicine. He completed a research/clinical fellowship in Womens & Obstetric Anesthesia at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. George received a Recruitment & Establishment Grant from the IWK Health Centre as well as peer reviewed research grants from the Nova Scotia Health Research and Canadian Anesthesiologists Society for the study of womens pain. He was awarded the CAS Career Scientist Award for the project “Enhancing analgesia and anesthesia for women and high-risk pregnancies”. Dr. George is director of the Obstetric Anesthesia fellowship program at Dalhousie University and Chair of the Research in Medicine Ungergraduate Medical Education Program. He is currently the Chair of the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society Obstetric AnesthesiaSection.
