Biography: Dr Fauzia Anis Khan is currently a tenured Professor of Anaesthesiology at the Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan .She completed her anesthesia training from UK and relocated to Pakistan in 1985 where she was one of the founding members of the Department of Anaesthesiology at this first private university in the country. She chaired the department between 2002 and 2010 and served as the Interim Associate Dean Post Graduate Medical Education (PGME) at the University (2010-2011). She is an examiner for Anaesthesia Fellowship examination in Pakistan and has also examined in Nepal and Malaysia. She held the position of Dean, Faculty of Critical Care, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (2009- to-2015). She is the editor of five Anesthesia Lecture Note Series and has published more than 150 articles in peer reviewed journals .She has a mention in the Productive Scientists of Pakistan.She has presented as invited speaker at various regional, national, and international meetings . Her current research interests are focused on quality and safety in Anaesthesia, hemodynamic responses, pain relief in pediatric surgery, and pain and gender. She is currently editor of the quarterly Anaesthesia Practice newsletter and Anaesthesia Pain & Intensive Care Journal (APICARE) which is the only Anaesthesia journal published from Pakistan. She is a member of WFSA Scientific Affairs Committee since 2008.
