Before moving to Singapore, he was Professor of Evidence Based Anaesthesia at University of Teesside (UK) and Consultant Anaesthetist, James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough (UK). He founded British Ophthalmic Anaesthesia Society, established World Congress of Ophthalmic Anaesthesia and founded Society for Education in Anaesthesia UK. He has edited 8 text books in various anaesthesia sub-speciality. He has conducted numerous clinical trials and has published over 100 scientific papers, many in the high profile journals. His research in ophthalmic, regional anaesthesia (Continuous Spinal Anaesthesia) and elderly anaesthesia has resulted in changes in clinical practice. He is a much sought after international speaker and has delivered over 100 presentations in various prestigious international conferences.
