He was co-editor of the TTSH-NNI ICU Handbook (1st & 2nd editions). His current interests are in system-wide healthcare transformation, improvement science, implementation strategies, organizational change strategies, and the ethical conduct of hospital practice.

He was aCo-director,Neurological Intensive Care Unit,National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) Singapore;and formerly Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology, TTSH. He is dual accredited in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine, andtrained at the National University of Singapore, UPMC (Pittsburgh) theCleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio., andUCBerkeley (Haas) .He was a past President of the Singapore Society of Anaesthesiologists, a foundation exco member of the Society of Intensive Care Medicine (Singapore) and a foundation excomember of the Asian Society of Neuroanaesthesia and Critical Care.
