Biography: Born and raised in Neu-Ulm, Germany, Dr. Schure attended Medical School at the University of Ulm in Germany. She continued her medical training with a residencey in Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care at the University of Ulm, followed by additional training in Adult Cardiac Anesthesia and then a 2-year fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital in Pediatric Anesthesia and Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia. To be board eligible in the United States, Dr. Schure signed up for a residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Chicago, Illinois. After her graduation and board certification she returned to Boston to work at the New England MedicalCenter as a staff anesthesiologist with special interest in Pediatric and Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia. In 2008 she joined the Cardiac Anesthesia Division at Boston Children's Hospital where she is currently practicing. Her major interest and research focus is Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia and education, especially using in-situ simulation for team training. She has written several text book chapters and lectured nationally and internationally on various topics in pediatric anesthesia.
