Statement of expertise for the sub-committee: Most of my administrative professional career has been focused on the management of clinical care of patients and overseeing professional staff. I have functioned as a Site Chief for a major Canadian teaching hospital, spent five years on the Board of Directors of our multi-site hospital, two of them as the chief medical advisor to the Board as MAC Chair. The past five years I have worked as the operational lead of city wide department, coordinating human resources with the Department Chair, providing direction and feedback to other departments who work with us. I have had a special interest in my career for process and governance, working with our senior administration in a wide variety of medical leadership positions helping create an integrated work force of about 85 faculty and 60-70 trainees

Biography: Associate Professor of a major Canadian university departmentwith anadministrative career linked to patient care services, change management, systems development andhospital integration.Special interests in the governance ofpublic hospitals as well as development of policies and process toassist physician management by medical leadership. Evolving changes in professional work/personal life balance involve managing a variety of professional and financial impacts on faculty. I have been very active in developing system policies and practices to assist these changes.
