Affiliation: Anaesthesiology AUH, Aarhus N, Denmark;

Biography: Dr. Sloth is a professor of Point-Of-Care Ultrasound. He has authored and co-authored 150 peer-reviewed papers, mainly on hemodynamic optimization by means of echocardiography (TEE and TTE adult and pediatric). He also supervises PhD students. Dr. Sloth developed the FATE-protocol (Focus Assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography) more then 25 years ago and thus, founded abbreviated echocardiography of the heart by non-cardiologists. With The FATE protocol, “The modern hemodynamic” where hemodynamic optimization is based on the most accurate measures of preload, afterload, myocardial function and diastolic function was born. Dr. Sloth has given several hundred lectures worldwide and has been running hands on ultrasound courses since 1996. Dr. Sloth has developed a unique learning concept, based on pre-course E-learning and systematic and comprehensive hands-on training, which has been implemented world wide.
