Biography: Dr Tang is a key member of the Department of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at Queen Mary Hospital, a department that has been associated with many landmarks in the history of cardiac and thoracic anaesthesia in Hong Kong. Dr Tang holds fellowships in Anaesthesia of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and the Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiologists. She has also done post-fellowship hands-on training at Royal Children Hospital and Toronto Sickkids. She is certified in Advanced Perioperative Transoesophageal Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography, USA. She is experienced in anaesthesia related to mechanical circulatory support, especially implantation of ventricular assist device, ECMO, and transplantation of thoracic organs, as well as minimally invasive cardiac surgery. In the department, she takes a pivotal role in continuous quality improvement projects like blood conservation, perioperative perfusion management and implemented changes in various clinical practices.
