Biography: Dr. Chew-Yin Wang graduated from University of Birmingham, UK. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (London), the Faculty of Anaesthetists, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Malaysia. She is currently Professor of Anaesthesiology at the University of Malaya, Head of Day Surgery, Head of Preoperative Clinic and Head of Cardiothoracic Unit for the Department of Anaesthesia at the University Malaya Medical Centre. Dr. Wang is the Treasurer of the College of Anaesthesiologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, Convenor of Sleep Medicine and Anaesthesia Special Interest Group, past convenors of Day Surgery, Airway Management and Simulation, Special Interest Group, College of Anaesthesiologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia and Chair of Research Group, Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologist. She has clinical and research interests in a wide range of areas including Muscle Relaxants, Airway and Ambulatory Anaesthesia, Perioperative Medicine and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. She is a Member of the Steering Committee of several large multinational trials including POISE-2 Trial, VISION NonCardiac Surgery study, POSA Trial ,VISION Cardiac Surgery, NeuroVision , HIP Attack and Myriad trial. She has over 50 scientific publications.
