Biography: As Consultant Anaesthetist in the field of Global Anaesthesia with a focus developing training programmes for Nurse Anaesthetists and Physician Anaesthetists I worked in Sierra Leone and for the last 12 years I have been working in Timor Leste. In Timor I have been employed by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in a programme funded by the Australian government. I trained in Amsterdam and moved to London for my post-graduate training. During training I did a number of humanitarian missions with MSF notably in Rwanda and Sierra Leone. I am the chair of the ICRC/WFSA liaison committee which offers support and advice on matters anaesthesia to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
