Biography: Dr. Meinolfus “Wulf” M. Strätling, works as a Consultant Anaesthetist at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, UK. He is also a medical ethicist and historian and has published on these topics extensively. Wulf is an internationally recognised and very experienced expert in clinical ethics consultation: For more than 10 years he was responsible for a very busy, consultant delivered clinical ethics consultation and research department at Germanys second largest University Hospital. During this time he also co-founded the German Clinical Ethics Consultation network. Since his appointment to his current position in the UK in 2007, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the UK Clinical Ethics Network (UKCEN) and many years on the Clinical Ethics Committee (CEC) of the Cardiff and Vale University LHB, one of the largest tertiary referral centres in the UK. There he also holds a formally recognised “Clinical Lead” role for “Medical Humanities”. In several countries he has advised multiple governments, parliaments, political parties, supreme courts, (inter)national organisations and media as a specialist Consultant on related matters.
